PG Job Site Pro 2009 version

The new version of PG Job Site Pro will be available in January 2009. Below is the list of new features, options and improvements:

1. Paid services improvements:

a) Ability to disable paid services for posting vacancies and/or viewing resumes.
b) Currency management module: administrator will be able to add any currency right in admin panel.
c) New payment option � offline payment. Administrator adds information on offline payments offered in his panel. If a user chooses offline payment method, he/she follows the instructions and sends information on the payment to site administrator. Administrator can either approve or decline it in his panel after payment verification. Corresponding notifications are sent to site administrator and site user.

2. Moderators: administrator will be able to create moderators and assign permissions to manage certain admin panel�s sections.

3. Approval option: administrator will be able to enable resumes, vacancies and multimedia files approve. The will become active and visible on the site only after administrator�s approval if the option is enabled.

4. Countries database management: administrator will be able to edit installed countries/regions/cities and add new countries/regions and cities manually.

5. Job Seekers applications sorting: applications of job seekers will be sorted by vacancy in employer�s panel to make it easier to work with applications received.

6. While adding job seekers into the list of saved ones, employer will be able to add notes to each job seeker.

7. Administrator will be able to choose what will be displayed on index page. In addition to already available �latest vacancies� and �most popular ones� a new option will be added � Featured Employer. In this case Employer�s name, logo and vacancies will be displayed.

8. Site notifications will have text format. Administrator will be able to edit all notifications in a dedicated area of the admin panel. Notifications will support multilingual interfaces too.

9. It will be possible to change site logotype in administrator�s panel.

10. New option: registration confirmation. If administrator activates this service, then new member�s profile becomes active only after clicking confirmation link sent to his/her email address.

11. Search for necessary language interface part in the language files to facilitate the process of language interface management.

12. Job Seekers will be able to make resumes visible/invisible.

13. Info pages management option. Administrator will be able to add/edit/remove section and subsections of top and bottom navigational menu, change the order of their display, move some sections from top into bottom menu and vice versa.

14. Back to search results. While viewing one of search results, site users will have an ability to get back to search results by means of a button �Back to search results.�

15. Quick statistics on index page � number of vacancies, resumes and companies. Can be turned on/off by administrator.

16. �Tell a friend� option: jobseekers will be able to send the vacancy they like to someone else using a special form.

17. Advertising campaigns module improvement: now employers have an ability to order advertising on the site.

18. Each vacancy will have its id on the site. Jobseekers will be able to search vacancies using that id.

19. Minor fixes and improvements.

I have a few suggestions:

- Make a standardized upload scheme (xml, xls or other methods) so that customers can upload multiple listings at once.
- Create possibility to change publication date of a news article. Also make it possible to create an article for future publishing.
- Instead of the online messaging system create the option to send emails directly to agents (without logging in)
- Create option that contact info is already available for non-registered visitors
- Show weather and forecast in the listing

Yes, as you may know different resources have different formats of XML files to export the information. In admin mode you will be able to generate Feed File for each of them.

Hello,

Thanks for your suggestion however it looks like these ID-cards are applicable to Estonia residents only at the moment and not so widely used.. So we cannot include it in our product on this stage.

If you want it to be integrated into your site, I suggest contacting our Custom Dept and have them do this implementation for you.

Thank you for your question.

To post your work you should go to Catalog and then choose the product name you have modified.

Then press Add new listing in a menu when logged in and post your developement work.

Thanks for your interest in our PG Newsletter Software.

You can apply changes/corrections to existing languages in the section 'Settings' > 'Languages'.

There you can also add new language interfaces, if necessary.

That is not exactly what I was referring to. I have found typo's and mis-spelled words, and some sentences that don't make much sense within the user screens. I am wondering if these will be fixed soon. Do I have anyway of fixing them myself?

Would I need to get the open source version for that?

The texts will be fixed together with new version release.

If you would like to modify them on your own and fix the typos you found, you can do that in \"languages\' section as I mentioned previously.

I just purchased the Social Networking software. We are turning it into a Dating site with the help of Marina. However, I was wondering if there was a way to turn on/off or "hide" the modules without uninstalling them. If not, what is the easiest way to remove the files and install them later.

Even when our environment is 100% .Net, we can deploy PHP sites on IIS, is ok, but our problem is the database.
All our applications and user authentication is on MS SQL 2000 / 2005 and Active Directory.
Of course a VB .Net version of eLMS Pro will be the best option for us and a bless for our programmers, but if we cannot get that, at least we need a compatible database.
Any option or suggestion about?

Dear Sethox,

Thank you for your question.

To start with a template, please check Templates folder for css and images folders. Also check .tpl files.

The easiest way to do a new template is to adjust those files. We advise to copy the whole pilot_theme into the same location (templates folder)and name it somewhat different. Afterwards you'll be able to activate it through admin mode>site settings management>Administrator info>site template.

Then you'll just modify the files in the new theme you have created. Then activate it in admin mode.

When you run install programe of social networking pro, two tables are not getting created : a) [prefix_]user_upload b) [prefix_]user_interests.

In create table defination of table [prefix_]user_interests FULLTEXT index is trying to get created, but its only possible while the default engine type is MyISAM. In CREATE TABLE defination of [prefix_]user_interests it is not specified. So modify your sql query in install\bases\dating_pro_base.sql

In create table defination of table [prefix_]user_upload default value of text datatype column needs to be removed.

Keep your short tags directive open / on in your php.ini directive while you are running installation program of real estate application otherwise you may fall with an parser error at install/form.php

Actually it is possible to set format of the date displayed in administrator's pabel of the site in the 'Settings' section.

As for members statistics, some service users such as 'guest' were taken into account. This will be fix in the next version of the script.

When I go to send an eCard I'm not allowed/given a way to select a recipient for the eCard.

Improvements List.

1. Listings Approve feature.
If enabled, listings will need to be verified by site administrator before going live on website.
Beside approving or disapproving listings, administrator can also modify or remove a listing awaiting verification.

2. Moderators.
The new feature allows to create moderators who will be responsible for management of certain administrator�s mode sections. Moderators will view only those menu items access to which was granted by site administrator.

3. New Search Options: search by zip code and radius search.
Now it is possible to search for property by zip code with the possibility to specify radius within which search should be performed. Currently zip codes for the USA and Canada are available.

4. RSS Feeds for new listings.
Now site members can subscribe to RSS Feed and receive RSS news on newly added listings that match criteria they specify: property type, type of property operation and location.

5. Members Membership Transfer Utility.
Site administrator can now move one or more site members from one group to another specifying period of membership in the selected group.

6. It is now possible to upload Virtual Tours in SWF file format, not just panoramic images.

7. If you decide to use some web analytics tool to generate statistics about your website visitors, such as Google Analytics, you don�t need to insert the script of the program into the code � now there is a special area in administrator�s area that allows inserting the script and its execution on all website pages.

8. Some of listing management tools were missing in administrator�s listing area, such as import/export of listings and virtual tours. Now these tools available to site administrator as well.

9. Now it is possible to import/export listings with images.

10. Favicon management module allows site administrator to change your website favicon icon right in admin mode.

11. Refine Search option � adds search box on the left side of search results page to refine search criteria.

12. New WYSWYG editor was integrated that allows upload images.

13. We continued working on URL rewriting option to provide shorter and more relevant-looking links to web pages, making website URLs more descriptive to improve user-friendliness and search engine optimization.

14. Site administrator can now choose how alerts are sent from the site: either using mail server or smtp server.

15. Payments improvements:

- If adding a listing is a paid service on a site, in previous version it was necessary to pay prior to adding a listing; now adding a listing will be allowed but payment is required to activate it;

- If there is paid membership on the site and someone decides to pay for membership, in previous version it was necessary to add funds to account first and than make a payment for the service. Now this is one-step payment without having to add funs to account first.

16. If posting listing is a free service on the site, it was possible to limit the number of listings for private persons only. Now such limitation can also be set for real estate companies as well.

17. There were a lot of other minor improvements, fixes and enhancements.

I'm trying to learn whether there's a generally accepted way to modify Job Site Pro without hacking the "core"... I've looked through the files and nothing readily presents itself. For Open Source projects like Drupal and WordPress, the 'correct' way to go about creating new plugins/modules is pretty clear. Less so with this project. When should we expect to begin to have some clarity on this (if ever)?

You should go to Groups>groups list> in Free user group click Permissions button.

Then take away all options for free users group. After that Save.

Then allow all that to your paid group and the system will ask people to pay to register.

Thank you for a good question.

Actually, it can be done but now the profile structures in DP and SN are different so some fields will be lost in DP database.

DB general structure stayed the same and that's why I think it'll be a small custom work. Also the timeline depends on the size of your database.

Please provide details so we could estimate the work better.

In Social Networking the modules are pert of the software so you cannot just switch them off.

I think we should add this feature for discussion for the next time.

I think there's a simple way to comment some modules from being shown on user mode for now.

Yes, in order to create addons, plugins, modules, it's currently necessary to apply correspndinbg changes to the core of the system. In the near future we are planning to move our product to a different platform and we'll see if your suggestion can be realized there.

Hello,

You don't need to apply changes to the code to do that, all the chnages can be done in administrator's panel, in the section: 'Sections Management' > 'Order of listings display'.

There you can choose type of listings to be displayed on the index page, number of listings and the way they will be displayed - by list or by rows.
